God In A Box

I am guilty of putting God into a box.

My mind and comprehension limits what He is capable of.

I know I am not the only one. So many of us (possibly all of us?) are guilty of this very thing.

We can't fathom certain things. We don't want to set ourselves up for disappointment. We don't have big enough faith. So we put Him in a box in our limited understanding of who He is and what He can do (spoiler alert: anything).

I want to stop. I want to trust more, obey more and believe more. Jesus rose from the dead, people. If that isn't the impossible becoming possible, then I really don't know what is.

I Don't JUST Stay at Home + PinCrazy

Today I am posting over on Project: On Purpose about being thankful to stay at home with my kids! 

After my daughter was born I had many variations of the question "What do you do?" "Are you going back to work?" "WHEN are you going back to work?" "Do you work?", etc.

How did I respond?

"Oh, I just stay at home now."

Just.

Something about that little word makes it sound like I'm doing something wrong. Or that I'm doing something that isn't worth mentioning. Or that I'm doing something not noble or important at all. One little tiny word changes the whole feeling behind it, doesn't it? Read More...

Mary or Martha?

So, so often, I am running around trying to get everything done and make everything perfect. I am washing clothes, doing dishes, fixing meals, driving little people around, vacuuming, meal planning, grocery shopping, running to the bank....I'm sure you know the feeling. Sometimes I feel as though if I take just a little time off, my whole world would explode. Everything would fall apart because I would get behind. It is hard to imagine just sitting around and doing nothing, which is how Martha saw Mary. But Mary certainly wasn't doing nothing. Making Your Home a Haven

We spend SO much time inside these walls. We host many gatherings, we cry here, we worship here, we have deep talks here, we laugh around the dinner table here. We play games here, we learn new things here, we teach and learn life lessons here. This is where I want my people to want to be! I want to do whatever I can to make it a place they enjoy being.
